Minot Fire Department
Welcome to the Minot Fire & Rescue Department!
The Minot Municipal Fire Department, with its Rescue division was established by a vote of the Town at the annual Town meeting in 1999. The was accomplished by blending the existing West Minot Fire Company and the First Responders of Minot into one entity by means of an ordinance.
The Fire Department is governed by the Selectmen.
They in turn appoint a Chief. The Chief is recommended
by the West Minot Fire Company, which now serves
as a fraternal like body of the Fire Department.
Stephen French is the current Chief. He has held
this position since 1985. The West Minot Fire Company
also votes to recommend two deputy Chiefs; they
are
Norman Gurschick and Dean Campbell. All other officers are
appointed by the Chief and his officers.
The Rescue Division is led by a Chief of Services.
This title is recognized by the state as the person
in charge of the rescue services of a municipality.
Currently James Allen holds this position. There
is also an Assistant Rescue Chief. This position
is held by Carole Bradbury.
